This is YOUR Year

A Note from the Editor

by Jordan Sapir

Über Mom: this is YOUR year. In fact, this is the year you decide not to commit to any unnecessary engagements, stay clear of negativity, declutter the elements of your life that make it difficult to set goals, and see those goals through successfully.  2019 is the year you realize the importance of the concept of less is more, that health and wellness maintenance doesn’t happen overnight, and that being fit is in fact not a fad.

Every month we chose a topic for the Über Moms Newsletter. This month is no different. It is, however, an important issue, and a great start to the new year. This is the issue in which we discuss resolutions and un-kept promises, setting goals and keeping them, and stepping away from the popular topic of positive thinking and affirmations. We had great revelations in 2018, one of which was realizing that in order to truly fulfill your dreams, you first have to find out what makes you happy.

Wherever you look, there is talk of resolutions and goal setting. What if this is a great misconception? What if failure is inevitable, unless you have the infrastructure to commit, the discipline to stay motivated and the confidence to see it through. Yes, we are still committed to health and wellness, finding strength and staying positive, but we are also breaking norms and stepping outside the box. Well, jumping over it.

Let’s face it: the only way you’re going to own this year is by taking charge, looking outside of your own realm, and improving from within.

Go lay some bricks!
