Just Call Me Tech Savvy Mommy
A Note from the Editor
By Jordan Sapir
Spring is in the air here in Munich. Couples in Tracht are walking hand in hand on the way to Frühlingsfest, and moms all over Bavaria are rejoicing on the sunshine filled playgrounds. We’re also chatting in Über Moms Runners about the release of the Garmin Forerunner 645. On the Über Moms main page, there are discussions on the best apps for scheduling. Meanwhile, in other mom groups, they’re trying to figure out how their Cloud knows where their pictures are.
That’s right, moms, this month at Über Moms we’re talking about technology. How you’re not going to be that mom who needs your twelve-year-old to setup your phone, or who says things like “the interwebs,” how we all know how to hashtag, and, of course, weed our way through social media.
This month join Über Moms in getting Technologically Savvy.
Julie Leonard, Über Mom and life coach, tells us how technology can be good for your health. Lisa Davidson, our Über Mom abroad, discusses whether we have something to fear with the advancement of technology.
Our in-house “Ironmom”-turned-documentary-family-photographer, Abbie Casper, gives us tips on organizing our family photos. Über Mom and ever so diplomatic family counselor Katie Rössler dishes out how not to follow the pack and choose the technology that’s right for you.
Nature advocate and yogi Amie Mignatti wants us to be mindful whilst surfing.
Finally, new additions to the Über Moms family, Claire Behrens, child and school psychologist, and Mariia Ginzburg, IT-consultant, respectively discuss how to connect with your children by disconnecting from technology, and how to spring clean our devices.
Of course, I’m still an Über Mom Tri(ing) my hardest to be me.
We hope you enjoy our newsletter as much as we enjoy producing it. If you like our mission statement and want to join our newsletter team, write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to hear from you. Join us in making our expat mom community of tree hugging, athletic, granola-eaters happier – like, share and repost.
Long live the Über Mom!
Jordan Sapir, mother of two glitter-laden girls, 1 and 3, studied Journalism and International Political Science in NYC, a place she once called home. She can slaughter five languages fluently. She has worked in a newsroom or two, walked a catwalk or three, and is all for an impromptu adventure. Having traded in her Prada for pretzels, the founder of Über Moms lives in Munich, where she is a stay at home mom and studying to become a certified nutritionist. She is a mommy on a mission and wants to help fellow mothers raise healthy happy families, and beat a PR here and there.
