6 Beauty Stores to try in Munich

I absolutely LOVE living in Munich. I can honestly say it’s one of my favourite cities in the world. However, the one thing that I’ve struggled with in Munich is the lack of great places to buy makeup products! As a result, I do almost all of my beauty shopping online. As a makeup artist, it’s so important for me to use only the very highest quality makeup and skincare products on my clients. And I’m also very passionate about using only natural, organic and cruelty-free beauty products. So it’s been slim pickings when it comes to finding the products I like in stores in Munich, to be honest.

However, after a lot of research over the 7 years that I’ve been living here, I’ve managed to find a few shops that I really like. Without further ado, here are some of my favourite places to buy beauty products in Munich.

If you’re looking for high quality natural & organic skincare products, this store is perfect for you. It’s actually an online store but it’s based in Munich. They even stock natural & organic products that are specifically for babies and kids. So you can be safe in the knowledge that the products you’re using on your little ones contain only ingredients that are of natural & organic origin that are in no way harmful. But these are also products you can use on yourself as well. Don’t save the good stuff for the kids only. You deserve the best too.

This fabulous online store is owned by a lovely expat girl called Nodira. After experiencing some health issues, she realised that her health and well-being had to be her number 1 priority from then on. And one of the best ways to do this was to eliminate the use of cosmetic products that contain toxic ingredients. All of the products in her gorgeous store are from artisan brands that are handmade and of the highest quality. Protecting our planet is also very important to her. So the brands she stocks only use packaging that is recycled and thus friendly to our environment. And absolutely none of the products have been tested on animals and some are also vegan too.

So as you can see, there’s so much to love about this wonderful store. And the products are absolutely gorgeous. I can highly recommend them and this store.

This is another one of my absolute favourite stores for natural skincare in Munich. Again, it’s online but based in Munich. All of the beautiful products from this wonderful brand are hand made with love and full of skin nourishing ingredients that are of 100% natural origin. The body scrubs from this brand, in particular, are among my absolute favourites and have become a staple in my beauty routine. I also love their peppermint lip balm as well as their facial oil.

Not only are the products in this store beautiful, but it also has an amazing founder and is another reason why I’m so happy to buy from them. The founder and creator of these gorgeous products is actually one of our very own Über Moms. Julie Leonard has been an aromatherapist for over 20 years. So when it comes to all things essential oils and knowing what’s good for your skin, Julie is my go-to expert. Another store that I love and highly recommend.

This is another one of my favourite shops for natural & organic cosmetics. It’s located in the city centre very close to Viktualienmarkt. They also stock makeup brands, which is great for me, as I find it so difficult to find good quality makeup brands in stores here in Munich.

They have a wide selection of skin care brands by some of the more well-known brands such as Lavera, Weleda, AnneMarie Börlind and Dr.Hauschka. Although the range of makeup brands they stock is not huge, there are still a few nice pieces to be found. For example, they stock products by Living Nature, a lovely organic brand from New Zealand. Their foundations and bronzers are quite nice in particular.

If you’re on a very tight budget, they also stock makeup products from Benecos and Lavera. Whilst I’m not a huge fan of all of their products, I can highly recommend the lipsticks from both brands which are really great quality for such a budget price.

This store stocks some of my favourite makeup brands such as Jane Iredale, RMS Beauty and ILIA. These brands have some of the best quality makeup products you can buy. They all contain ingredients that are not only good for your skin, but that also look amazing on and last a long time too. And, of course, none of them are tested on animals either.

Organic Luxury also stocks plenty of natural and organic skin care products. The products in here are undeniably at a higher price point, but most definitely worth it for the quality of the products.

Two stores that are also worthy of a mention are DENNS BIOMARKT and the Naturshop in MÜLLER HAUPTBAHNHOF. Both of these stock many of the well known natural and organic skincare brands that I love. So I often find myself in these stores too. Whilst Denns stock mostly skin care products, Müller Naturshop does also stock some makeup brands such as Korres, Living Nature, Burt’s Bees, Lavera and Benecos. Müller also stocks great brands such as John Masters Organics and Dr.Scheller. And some of the body products by Terra Naturi Naturkosmetik (the natural skincare brand by Müller) are quite nice.

Keep in mind, what you put ON your skin is absorbed INTO your body. If you’re interested in making the switch to using products that contain non-toxic ingredients but have no idea how to start, I’ve got something that will help you. I’ve created this FREE Natural Beauty Guide that will start you on your journey to safer, cleaner beauty. My advice is to start simple. Don’t try to change everything at once. So this guide is a great starting point and will help you ease into the process a lot more smoothly.

And now that you’re in the mood for a little retail therapy, it’s time to decide which gorgeous products you’re going to buy. But before you spend any money, make sure that the products you buy are perfect for YOUR face and that you know how to actually use them. Otherwise, you’re just wasting your hard earned money on products that will just sit in your makeup bag or bathroom, never to be used or seen again.

So it’s worth your while investing in some advice on what to buy exactly for your face before you spend a single cent. This will save you so much time and a whole load of money in the long run too. Remember, it’s best to have only a few products that are perfect for you and that you actually use rather than have a whole load of products that just sit in your makeup bag or bathroom that never get used.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post. And maybe we’ll bump into each whilst shopping at some of the fabulous shops I mentioned above. xo
